By Land and By…Lake Michigan

This past summer we were able to celebrate with Christina, a patient of 606 Physio, as she and her team set sail in Chicago’s Race to Mackinac competition. Christina had experienced an injury earlier in the year and together we worked on identifying the injury and making a plan to get her from being lakeside to back in the boat. With the inaugural race starting in 1898, the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac remains the longest annual freshwater race in the world with about 330 boats competing each year. It takes about 40-60 hours for most of the fleets to complete the race, with the current record being 23 hrs 30 mins and 34 seconds. With Christina’s perseverance both in the gym and on the water, plus the dedication and hard work of the rest of the crew, the Esprit d’Écosse came in 2nd place in their section. Congrats Christina on a job well done!
